Colonel James Corbitt Photograph Collection

Abstract

This collection consists of photographs collected by University of Tennessee student James S. Corbitt. The subjects depicted include the UT campus directly after the Civil War (including the earthworks built for the Battle of Fort Sanders), the 1931 College of Engineering faculty (including Nathan Dougherty and Red Matthews), Ferris Hall, football games on Shields-Watkins Field, and unidentified UT faculty members.

Correspondence regarding the World's Fair Park

Abstract

This collection houses correspondence documenting the University of Tennessee's role in the further development of the site of the 1982 World's Fair. Some of the correspondence proposes that the site be used for an Appalachian Pioneer Museum. The collection also contains a report from the working group charged with planning for the site.

Graphic Arts Department Senior Show Packets

This collection contains two packets advertising the UTK Department of Graphic Design's 2000 Senior Show. Abstract This collection houses a scrapbook compiled by Mildred Simpson documenting her time at the University of Tennessee (1937-1940). It includes such memorabilia as invitations and programs for Greek sponsored events and university sponsored games, plays, and ceremonies, newspaper articles, photographs, and clippings from the society pages.
